The Panama City Police Department is the largest municipal law enforcement agency in Bay County, Florida. The department employs 171 people, 108 being sworn law enforcement officers. The agency responds to an average of 70,000 calls for service per year. All entry-level sworn positions are that of a patrol officer. For the first 12 weeks after hire, new officers are assigned to the Field Training Officer (FTO) program. Upon successful completion of the FTO program, officers will be assigned to a patrol squad and given beat responsibilities.
