Investigative Services
The Investigative Services Section is responsible for the follow-up investigation of crimes occurring with the city of Panama City, the analysis of crime trends and the provision of support and assistance to crime victims.
The Investigative Services Section includes:
- Criminal Investigations Unit
- Street Crimes Unit
- Crime Scene Unit
- Intelligence Unit
All Panama City Police detectives and Investigators start their law enforcement careers as uniformed patrol officers and are assigned to Investigative Services based upon their knowledge, experience, and investigative ability. Detectives are responsible for locating and interviewing victims and witnesses; locating, identifying and preserving physical evidence; recovering stolen property; identifying, locating, interviewing and arresting criminal suspects; and presenting criminal cases to the State Attorney for prosecution.
